Christmas post #1

So here is the beginning of my Christmas posts. On Christmas Eve we spent a yummy brunch with my family. That was so fun to spend some of Christmas Eve with them since usually we don't get to see them on Christmas Eve. After brunch we took the kids home to rest up for the evenings events, however it was very unsuccessful for the resting as the kids were too excited to do anything but be crazy!
So one little note, my camera broke a few weeks before the holidays and so my wonderful brother lent me his. So I used his camera to take pictures on Christmas Eve. Unfortunately the battery ran out just as we were opening presents and there are no pictures of that night. I was of course freaking out because you can't have Christmas morning without pictures, right! That night at midnight Dave gave me the first gift of Christmas, a new camera! I think he was tired of hearing me freak out that we needed a camera! But it was very thoughtful and I love it!
So back to Christmas Eve, we spent the evening at Plowmans, as usual there is so much yummy food and six kinds of desserts. My mother in law makes the BEST desserts ever! Two words: Cherry Turnovers! After eating our big feast, we did the Nativity story. Every year those with parts dress up and Biz writes the script and we do the pageant. Kira was Mary and was a very cute one. Dave was Joseph. Luke was a shepherd and Jenna was an angel( she was so excited for weeks, because she had the perfect costume from her dance recital). It was a very nice production! We moved onto the opening of presents. You can imagine the chaos that followed. The rest of the night Jenna was so worried that Santa was going to miss us so we ended up leaving shortly after presents.

Welcome Christmas morning! The kids woke up about 8:00. Not too bad! The kids got everything that they wanted. They all are at such cute ages and were so excited. I think that it was so wonderful to see their face light up. It was just perfect!

This is Kira screaming "mine" when Jenna opened her Rapunzel styling head doll. She just didn't understand that it was Jenna's and not hers. It took several minutes and lots of distractions of all her new toys before she calmed down! I think that lack of sleep and excitement was too much for her little two year old self.

Daddy with Kira and her big head Minnie (from Grandma Plowman) and her Minnie quilt that I made for her.
Snuggling with Daddy!

Santa brought the kids a Barbie and star wars lap tops. It only took Jenna one day to wear out the batteries in hers. It took me like half the day before I decided that the kids need headphones!
It was such a great Christmas morning! To be continued...
