Jenna's Baptism

April 16th was a beautiful, crazy day! Kira woke up that morning sure to make my day a living nightmare! She was cranky from the minute she woke up. Jenna, however was just wonderful! She was so excited to get baptized, and she tried so hard to be the best that she could be that day. We had my awesome brother Jon take pictures of Jenna on her special day. We also took a few of our family too. We went to the church about 12:30 and got Jenna in her jumpsuit, to which she said, " I want to get one of these! It is so comfortable!" It was very neat to be back there with her to get her ready for her special day. She even let me do something fun with her hair! She looked beautiful! We then went to the chapel to hear the talks and sing. Our ward was in charge of the baptisms that day and because it was Jenna getting baptized, I didn't have to speak. So instead while Dave and Jenna are enjoying a nice spiritual feast. I am struggling with Kira while I try to keep her quiet. She is determined to not cooperate with anything! She wants snacks and I giver her everything that I have and she still wanted more. So she screams for that and then I try to calm her down and she screams more. I reach down in the bench to pick her up and she lightly hits her head on the bench. She doesn't cry until I pick her up and she is screaming even louder than before. So I give her to her Uncle Steve because he was on the end and she screams even louder! So at this point we are at nose that would put sirens to shame! She doesn't want Steve and screams more and I climb over everyone to take her out and her dress is practically over her head as I am going as fast as I can out of the chapel! My dear friend Hallie came to take her and came in the hall to help and she gets her calmed down. Well now it is time to move to the Primary room to do the baptism. I go i
n and there is no seat for me! At this point all I want to do is cry! I hold it together and find a seat and Kira starts screaming again! So Hallie takes her out and I quickly see the baptism and take Jenna back for a few minutes of peace. After that was kind of a blur. But Jenna got confirmed and Dave did a beautiful job. I was called on to bear my testimony and was very emotional but held it together. We went home and had fun chaos as we had yummy appetizers and desserts. Kira was much better at home except for the diaper blowout all over her dress! Needless to say, after everything was cleaned up and everyone was gone, I had a good long cry as my dear husband gave me hugs! I sure missed my parents that day. It wasn't quite complete without them there. So in short it was a beautiful day for Dave and Jenna. For me it was just crazy! I am so grateful that Jenn made the choice to be baptized. I am so proud of her and the good person she is!
